Analysis of the Living Conditions at eZakheleni Informal Settlement of Durban: Implications for Community Revitalization in South Africa

This study investigated the living conditions of eZakheleni informal settlement, Durban metropolis Kwazulu-Natal, South Africa. The utilized data were collected with use a well-structured questionnaire through multistage sampling 255 households. descriptive results indicated low levels educational attainment, large number female headed households, high unemployment rates, inadequate sources income, poor security and government intervention programmes. inferential analysis indicate that factors such as water accessibility, toilet years working experience, food status, status access to good health significant key improving residents in area. therefore concluded education, basic housing services (water accessibility), security, social connectivity are contributors households’ condition area recommended several future research policy directions which could improve settlement.
